My lovely friend Viv and I were out together and we stumbled upon this checkered ground, which just so happened to match with her checkered socks. What better reason to start snapping photos?
While we were shooting, I asked Viv to put her leg up on this ledge, and I think her pose fits this fun and colorful/quirky scene so well!
Bringing it in to GIMP..
For editing I kept it fairly simple, because, let’s be honest, she’s already slaying it! I used my usual “curves” tool in GIMP to play around with the tones and the brightness. I also used the cloning tool a little bit just to remove minor blemishes.
Thoughts for next time..
Every time I look at this photo, while I really like it for the most part, I find myself mildly bothered by the reflections showing up in the window. I tried to remove or dampen it using the cloning tool, but this proved too challenging. But that’s ok! All in all, I’m happy with this shot 🙂
